well i bought a ten gallon tank and put a male and a female betta in it and they dont seem to be attracted to each other. Should i keep them in there or should i just stop hoping for hem to breed?. i turned the filter off trying to help him make a nest but hes just not going for it. also this is not a barebottom tank i have gravel on the bottom and and reef in the back wall i has driftwood, artificial driftwood, slate, and some smaller rocks.

Animefan93 is our Betta expert and has posted quite a bit of helpful information about spawning Bettas. She'll probably answer your post soon. In the interim, you should separate the female from the male and put them back together after she becomes heavy with eggs.
