    well....that tank shot was 3 or 4 years ago...now its live planted, those in the pic were artificial plants. Im still using the same substrate....its #3 and $4 sand gravel mixed. I didnt want to go any finer since the grains would be too light and be a pain to gravel wash. I use this mixture in all my tanks now.

    I love quarter cylinder quarter tanks. I saw one in an aquarium shop once that was beautifully planted and immediately wanted one. Unfortunately, they are not that common on craigslist and the ones I have seen have been too expensive. Yours looks great and I would love to see an updated photo with the plants!
