Hi All,

I have a really small tank with capacity of 2.5 gallons.
Can i get some suggestions for what fishes can i have in there and how much could be the max count of fishes.
I had 3 pairs of baby angels previously.. sadly all of them died of the fish bladder disease..
so i am looking out for some fishes that can fit in that small tank and quite comfortably..

The best fish for a tank that small is a single male betta. They are easy to care for and come in a variety of many brilliant colors.

what achintya said is not true, in the small of a tank your should have no more then 2 small fish, a betta would be good, or maybe a small goldfish?

If you have to many fish the water will be disgusting and your fish will probably die, so please take MY advice. and fishycrackerz

I have actually read that a single paradise fish is a better choice for a tank that size. Most stores sell only males which can be aggressive with each other. The reason they are better than a betta is that they prefer colder water than the betta so you do not have to worry about finding a tiny heater for your tank. Paradise fish are beautiful and like the betta, they posses a labyrinth organ that allows them to breath air. However, they still require regular water changes. You are pretty limited in what you can safely put in a 2.5 gallon. Mine is empty right now and I am seriously considering getting a paradise fish.

Achintya I hope you didn't misread the 2.5 gallon part. 5 gallons can comfortably house 6 tetras but 2.5 gallons you can't keep many fish. I also object to dyed fish and I think Glass Catfish like to school.

That picture is of dyed fish, please don't use them. It is cruel and inhumane, and by purchasing these fish you are only encouraging the heartless people who do that to them, to keeping doing it to them.

Thanks and good luck choosing a fish. Feel free to ask more questions.
