So now I have a new project. Breeding albino cory catfish! I need to do more research though. I do know they are egg eaters so that takes out any leaving them with their parents options. There are about three left of the 20 or so I saw this morning.

Congratulations. Several years ago a couple of new cory cats showed up in a 20 gallon tank. I didn't even know the adults had spawned. Let me know if you decide to raise albino cories.

CONGRATS!!!

I bought a breeding group, and got eggs one time. You can remove them from the sides of the glass with a razor blade.

I know they're really really touchy when it comes to water temperature changes... but if I remember right... The adults like cooler water, while the babies like warmer water. If you're keeping them with angels... there isn't going to be a temperature problem...

I had like 6 that hatched, but I guess they didn't make it... I put them in a bosemani fry tank... and never saw them again.

I was REALLY BUMMED out... Then I lost the male... So They haven't done anything again...

Good Luck Meg!!! Keep us posted!

Just for a lark I removed 5 of them and put them in a breeder net. As of today, I only see two eggs, but both of them have developed eye spots and should hatch today or tomorrow. I am really worried about them getting squashed in the net though so as soon as they hatch I am going to siphon and move them somewhere else. Not sure where yet though.

Wow they hatched! I see four of them, but I am not sure if they are alive or not. They don't seem to wiggle like angelfish. I did see one move, but only after I swished the water around. I will keep my fins crossed this is normal.

They all died. I couldn't find them in the breeder net. I found them later, but I think I squished them in the process of looking for them. If my cory cats lay eggs again I am going to put them in a jar that I will float in the tank. This way I will not squish them.

SQUISHING??? OH no, Bullwinkle.

Somewhere I read that removing the parents from the spawning tank will leave more viable eggs. Aren't cory eggs adhesive? If not, you may be able to pick them up with a turkey baster.

Yes they are adhesive, but you can scrape them off in a couple of hours after they harden if you use a razor. I removed the eggs because I would have to remove all the other tank inhabitants if I did not. They enjoy cory eggs as much as the corys do.
