I bought 3 algae eaters for my 40 gallon tank. They really do keep the tank clean, I haven't had to clen the tank of algae since I got them. My plants area lso growing much better without all the algae gumming up their leaves. What I am worried is that the algae eaters may not have enough to eat, they've pretty much cleaned the tank of all algae, maybe I should have only bought one.

What type of algae eaters did you buy?
you can weigh down lettuce (green) or cucumber slices for them Some people prefer to boil the lettuce before placing in the fish tank.

I feed half zucchini squash or cucumbers for my larger pleco's, slices for the smaller ones. Your Otto's and plecos will also eat some flake food. I didn't believe it when I was first told this but I have seen it for myself! I also feed sinking algae wafers but they are more expensive and seem to be less of a hit with the fish!

My Clown Loaches, Swordtails(mainly the females), and a couple of Albino Corys love the zucchini slices that I give them 2x/week. I mount it against the side of the glass in one of the suction-cup holders for just such feedings.
