Hornwort does better as a floating plant. So far as I know, it does not grow roots. The parts under the gravel just rot. Sometimes it's sold with a lead strip to make it sink, but the parts resting on the substrate usually rot.

I have already built the new tank for the stingrays. The ammonia problem in my old tank dropped to zero which means that the problem in my old tank was really the bio load. Soon, i'll post the stingray tank. thanks for sharing some infos.

The picture will be welcomed. Did you build the aquarium by yourself? I hope you can share some of the construction details.
