Hey All,

First: Up here in Maine there aren’t many aquarists or stores, or groups for that matter. So I wanted to give an update and let people know that a couple of months ago a new shop opened: Port City Reef, on Commercial St. (207.775.6555). It seems rather small and focused on salt water, but they promise to soon have a decent stock.

Second: Would anybody like to start an Aquarist Society of Maine? Or at least give me some advice on starting one? I’d like to create a network where collectors and hobbyists can meet over a list serve and keep each other updated on who’s looking for what, where new places are opening, etc., etc.,

I saw on reefcentral.com they have a group for Maine. One of the top posts is about that store. See here:

S.W.A.M. is located more North towards Bangor I know that Port City has hosted a Swam Meeting but a two hour drive is just too much. I would like to see a group in Southern Maine. Brian
