So... like 3 days ago, Jack totally anhililated the bubble nest...

It was the biggest one he'd ever built. So I just couldn't figure it out.

But tonight... I saw something DART across the end of the tank. It was a BETTA FRY!!!

So I didn't think they'd actually bred, becuase she's still so big... like with eggs.. But Obviously... I was wrong! Madison and I counted at least 6!!! Hopefully there's more...

I can't remember what to feed them, and when my computer crashed I lost all my betta sites... I'm going to feed them baby brine shrimp... I'm hoping that's ok...

Anime!!! Where are you???

GOOD JOB! have you taken the mom out yet? is there any nest left...if so look at that and see if you see tails sticking down from it or little black dots (there eyes)and if theres no nest and the babys you see are swimming fine(just not sinking to the bottom)i would take the male out

i would say when he had the huge nest he noticed he had babys and they tend to make the nest bigger when they do so there probilly a few days old and dont worry about them sticking to the walls or surface just have the surface nice and humid

heres the website i gave you before- http://www.flippersandfins.net/ bettabreedingarticle.htm#items

I took Emily out last night, because I really thought he was going to kill her. She's safe now...

There's really no nest left at all... A few of the babies sink to the bottom, but Jack is doing a good job of picking them up.

Several of the babies are just hanging out in the duckweed!

I'm SOOOOO Excited!!!

Thanks so much for the website again!!

P.S. Yeah... they're really tiny! But they have quite large eyes... in comparison to rainbows or angels...

Probably I already mentioned it, but the latest issue of Aquarium Fish International has a good article about Bettas. It focuses on care rather than spawning.

It's not looking good...

I know there's one in there... Which is still cool... But I'd hoped for more...

I've had the same problem with albino paradise fish, which are also bubble nest builders. Angels Plus has a very fine powder food for egg laying fry, but live floating plants support microscopic critters that the fry can eat.
