I think i would say no bc i think they are boarding then other fish.they cant have other bettas with them bc they will fight.I like gold fish and dalmation fish the most and now koi bc that is only the fish i have had in the past and the koi and small goldfish are the best when i take care of them. they dont die on me.

the smaller will be the tank the harder will be the take care of...generally betta lives in a bowl...when you keep betta you should always keep in mind that the ammonia and nitrite level must be zero.and do 50 % water change in every 7 days...then it will be ok for betta..

That's good advice. You should never over crowd an aquarium, so species selection depends quite a bit on the adult size of the fish you choose. Male Bettas are very colorful, and a single one can do well in a small aquarium provided the tank is carefully maintained. If the aquarium is ten gallons or larger, you may want to consider other species. If you're just starting in the hobby, try some of the more common, less expensive fish and plants. We all make mistakes getting started, and cheap mistakes are better than expensive ones.
