It's always so exciting when breeding is in progress here at the house...

Jack is FINALLY building his bubble nest! For real this time, it's getting quite large, and after blowing many misc. bubbles all around the tank, I think he's finally figured out what the cup is for!

I'm uploading videos to youtube right now and I'll post links soon!

Also, Jasper and Lily have laid today! For the first time since I can remember!!! I removed the sailfin pleco that had been torturing them, and now they've laid!!! On the slate! Tonight! Right where they were supposed to!!!

So I'm excited! Not to mention I traded with my LFS - Got rid of my 11" Common Pleco, 2 Counterfeit Silver Dollars, and 3 Buenos Aires Tetras. Along with a 7" Leopard Sailfin Pleco. The only fish I've gotten so far are 2 Hi/Long fin Rosy barbs. I LOVE them! They're so cute! And colorful! So I'm getting more as soon as they come in!!!

Ahhh... the benefits of using a LFS that extensively Quarantines!!!

I'll keep you posted, and YES - I'm looking for the recipe for the Miracle Grow!

I've read alot about it, and animefan has been priceless with her recomendations.

The neon needs to go into another tank. The bettas need to be in a tank with ZERO air flow... It really freaks me out, because I'm always ADDING air to the Angel tanks... LOL!

I took a regular styrofoam cup and cut it in half. Drained the tank down to a little below half way. No gravel on the bottom. That way the male won't have a heart attack if the eggs fall into the gravels out of reach.

Maybe a better idea is to just grab another 10 gallon tank. They're like $10 at Petco, or perhaps free on a site like Craigslist.

Since you really don't need anything else... you'd be set there.

I put some plants in the tank for the female to hide in.

I had put clean water in this tank when I put them in it. It seems that Jack didn't get focused until the water got pretty nasty... Like stagnant like... It's pretty gross...

If my second video ever finishes downloading, perhaps I can post the first video... LOL!

The plants are for the female to hide in.

I don't have a heater, I'm just leaving it room temp. It stays about 77 degrees as it is.

Let's see if I can get the video to post...

You all are making me envious talking about how cheap things are and going to Wal-Mart. Everything is super expensive over here and we do have Wal-Mart (Asda) but it's not the same. I miss America

yeah they wont breed if somethings making the water move and if he does make a nest get the neon out you dont need the cup but its easyer that way it keeps the bubbles from moving

Ok anime... Need your help here...

He's got a WHOPPING nest built... Overflowing the cup...

I took ALL the java moss out... 1/2 - 2 nights ago and the other half last night... So that he can see her... All that's in there are 2 sad looking pieces of water sprite...

I'm really impatient... She's FAT and STRIPED and everything...

How long in your professional opinion will it take? Before he lures her over there?

He hasn't been chasing her at all... Just getting close and flaring (not as much as normal) and wiggling... But not... COME HERE I'M GOING TO KILL YOU - type chasing... You know?
