Have some black thread/hair-like algae on some plants in my tank. What is causing it and how might it be eradicated. Any help appreciated.

Cut back on the length of hours your lites are on, add more CO2 and ferts. That cleared up a nasty thread and black brush algae problem I had.... took a while.

I had a real long fight with BHA. I finally removed all plants that showed hairs, removed all gravel that was growing the stuff, added SAEs and mollies and cut back on feeding and lighting hours.

The combination worked.

Good luck, BHA is one of the harder growth problems I have read and
