Both mine and my wifes tanks had a budget gravel (£1.29 from Pets at home) and both tanks end up going cloudy very quickly. last weekend I took out the brown gravel from my wifes and replaced it with Rainbow Gravel (multicoloured) and it hasn't clouded up yet. I have also taken out the brown gravel from my tank and left it bare with ornaments (and my fish love it so much that they keep it polished). Could someone tell me if that is a common problem with the budget gravel or weather it is due to the tanks being a couple of fish too many. Here is our setups:

Mine: 25 Litres approx 7G (bare bottom so full 25 litres of water)

1 Cory approx 2cm Fluvel 1+ filter water change every 7 to 10 days

Wifes: Same tank but with approx 2cm of gravel (so approx 23 litres) 1 Comet approx 2' 1 Black moor 1.5'

2 Corydoras both approx 2cm Fluvel 1+ filter water change every weekend due to amount of fish
