I've been looking to buy one for the whole back of my 10 gallon tank. Can anyone specify exactly what I should be looking for?

I've never used a bubble wand, but i have seen aquariums with so much turbulence that the plants shredded and the fish labored to swim. An aerator of some kind is usually good for an aquarium, but don't turn up the bubble machine too high. Some of the on line aquarium supply shops advertise a variety bubble doodads; even if you don't buy one from them you can get a good idea of what's on the market. Some are very creative, so post a picture when it's ready to bubble.

I'm not looking for a death trap now or anything that will hurt my fish.. I just want some peaceful bubbles in the back of my tank

If the bubbles get too vigorous, you can always add a bleed valve to the air pump. A bleed valve is just another air valve, and it should be installed between the pump outlet and the check valve unless the air pump is well above the aquarium water level. Once when i neglected to use a check valve, the electricity went out, and a messy syphon was started.
