A long time ago, brine shrimp were advertised as sea monkeys. They live in very salty water. You can buy brine shrimp eggs and hatchery equipment at most aquarium supply places. Newly hatched brine shrimp are excellent fry food.

To answer your question: no, sea monkeys (brine shrimp) can not survive long in fresh water.
