I have two albino tiger oscars. How consistent is their colour across the lenghts of their bodies usually? One of mine has some rather noticable variation, but I don't know if that's indicative of a problem. it's not -as bad- as shown in the picture, that's a lighting trick, but you can see there is a difference. http://members.shaw.ca/anonomoose/variation.jpg

Since Albino Oscars are not true albinos, there are subtle color variations from specimen to specimen, just like tiger Os and other color variations. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Yep, my albino (nearly 9 inches now, bless him) always changes his fin and body colours.

Its dark black when hes chasing the pleco.

Pale white when hes chasing the loach

Mucky grey when its feeding time.

His orange colours change all the time too, varying from pale to very bright, all the joys of keeping oscars im afraid.

I guess its like a finger print, varying from fish to fish.
