well I really want to keep discus but I want to know about there compatibility and there requirements.... Basically I would just like to hear some advice from those experienced with discus. I have a 32.5g freshwater tank its about a foot tall and 4 feet long.
White Sand
2 khuli Loaches
2 Sailfin mollies
2 Guppies
3 dalmatian mollies.
If any of these fish arent compatible I can easily remove them to a larger tank...

khuli loach is a bottom feeder.you can keep this one along with discus...you know that discus is the most beautiful fish of all.it costs maximum..but the other fishes like mollies, guppies are little costs..they need lesser maintainance, while discus need carefull set up..if you keep those fishes along with discus then the discus apart may not looks well..discus must be compatible along with clown loach, angels, black ghost knife etc..im my opinion you can keep those fish out from discus tank..

You really should get a least five. They find comfort in numbers and will be a lot happier that way. Do not buy fish that are dark and inactive. They are stressed or sick and you are taking abig risk with them. The only fish I keep with my discus are a bristle nose pleco, clown loaches, and a cory catfish. Some people keep angelfish with them, but in my opinion they are too aggressive for discus. Keep the water clean and feed your discus and they should do well for you. Also, keep the water warm. Nothing will compromise a discus immune system faster than cool water. Do 84+ degrees Fahrenheit.

Make sure the other fish will do OK in a Discus environment. If the water is too warm or too soft for the Mollies, they could get sick and pass the disease on to the Discus.

I agree. An experienced aquarist is much more likely than a novice to have success with Discus keeping.

I really want to keep them but at the same time they seem like such a big responsibility.
