I have a couple that I got from our LFS, but they won't breed.

The guy at the LFS said that I need to get some wild strain guppies, that the ones at the LFS are overbred, and don't breed much.

What were you looking for info? Or just curious?

I've been looking at some of the fancy guppies on Aquabid, and they're sort of expensive. Raising/developing show quality guppies can be pretty involved. They probably do a lot of inbreeding, which could result in fertility problems. It sort of makes a person wonder just how far is too far when it comes to selective breeding programs. Years ago back in Dallas, I knew a guy who was trying to develop some special guppies. He would separate the males and females as early as possible, then let a couple of males with the characteristics he was looking for sire all of the next generation. The hobby filled lots of aquariums.

On Aquabid, I saw some beautiful all red guppies from Singapore. I've had pretty good luck ordering live plants from Malaysia but am not sure about ordering fish from so far away. If anybody has some experience with that, let's hear from you. Thanks!

I know a girl in Colorado that has some German Pastel and some Platinum Albinos.

I can get you her info if you're interested. I think she'd be cheaper than AB, and if I know her... She'd probably trade some for a mop of those new fancy minnows you got!

It may be a while before I get some more aquariums going, but if she has any all red or even the half black and yellow, please let me know how to contact her.
