If you look at the fins of the ones on the link I posted, you will see they are exactly the same as yours. In another pic I found, it said that some are dyed blue, so that might be the case.

Probably the frog is too active for a Betta. Those large, colorful fins are the result of much selective breeding, so male Bettas are not able to cope very well.
