Here in Phoenix, aquariums are really cheap when you buy them in yard sales. The expensive parts are things like lighting, filters, gravel, etc. In addition, it's not difficult to build a strong, acceptable looking stand from common lumber.

If you're like some of us, one aquarium is just not enough. That's when the yard sales start to look good. Here in the southwest desert, the things go on all year.

Tell your uncle thanks for the aquarium setup. A 29 gallon tank is a really good size to start with.

eBay is also a good place to find fish tanks, at least I've gotten nearly all of mine that way. At least here in the UK you can find all sorts of things for aquariums at a cheap price.

Over on this side of the pond, not many people want to ship glass aquariums.

No, not to ship, to go and pick up from their house, but of course the UK is much smaller than the US, so it makes it easier to find good deals that aren't too far away.

According to my computer, this website was down for a couple of minutes.

We have craigslist over here, and people sell aquariums for local pickup. Of course, some weirdos also post on craigslist.
