Those are some really interesting photos. Probably because I live in the Sonoran desert, tropical areas are fascinating to me. Your pictures let me visit without traveling half way around to world. Thanks

Yeah that is interesting i catch some fish too in a creek thing here in New Zealannd they arent too fancy looking they are grey type guppies. I have added some phtos of my tank and i think there is a photo or two of them in the bachground

Somewhere I read that most of the fish sold for aquariums started out as the plain looking wild varities which were subsequently put into a selective breeding program. One exception I know of is wild caught angelfish.

interesting ive always wonderd where and how pet shops and fish farms get them from. You seem to know alot about angel fish, have you ever had any experiance with discuss fish?

I'm kind of stuck on raising mostly angelfish and have never had Discus. I do know, however, that Discus are expensive and very sensitive to water conditions. Although they are quite beautiful, Discus are best left to experienced aquarists.

oh ok well im no where near experianced so i wont be getting discuss fish any time soon

It's always best to start out with something easy so when you make a mistake it isn't too costly. If you start out with delicate, expensive fish, you can end up getting discouraged and missing a great hobby.
