So… The addition is done… The fishroom is supposed to be next right?
You won’t believe what he’s done to me now… He’s building a barn!!!
I always get the back burner!!! I’ve got the fishroom cleaned out, and I put some stuff in there that I’m wanting to sell… And we had talked about how we were going to rewire it, and How I could tile it, and paint the walls… Everything was going so good.
Till Last Sunday… I wake up and he’s out back with a 2 man auger waiting for me to come help him drill the holes for the foundation for the poles for the barn!!! GRRRR!!! Here I am ready to pull up carpet and plumb for my fish sink, and he’s out buying horses and building barns! GRRRR!!!
But we got a horse… Which is kinda cool. She’s super friendly, or was super friendly till yesterday, when she tried to cow kick me. I’ve never really been a horse person, but I’ve brushed her everyday since we got her… and I’m the only one that feeds her, or fools with her at all. I have to check on her a lot, because in the next 11-14 days she’s going to foal!!! So stay tuned for pictures of the baby.
And we’re getting a new barn. The old one is rather sad looking, the new one is going to be so much better! I just hope it gets done in time for Elly to give birth in there! It’s got nice big stalls.
So my fish room is back on hold. And even though I’m laughing at the image of John tripping down the hall with his python, I’m right beside him sloshing water in mine.
I sure hope things get settled down around here soon. I could have build some REALLY nice fish stands with the lumber they delivered for that barn!!!

I guess I haven’t read about your fish room but what a cool idea. How large is the room and what do you have planned for it? Tile would defiantly by a good idea as would the sink. Great now im jonesing for a fish room!
Tile would definitely be a good idea! Lol!!! What was I typing Lol!
Oh no, I am sorry to hear you have to wait. The horse sounds cool though. I look forward to those pics.
YES PICS PLEASE!!!!!!!!! i LOVE horses and know a lot about them even though ive never had one…kinda poor in a small house but im hoping to get a house when im older with a barn or an area big enough for a horse
Hey, I know how you can have the best of both worlds! Get Sea Horses…lol :-)
The fish room… It’s been an ongoing promise… When we get the addition done… Now when we get the barn done… BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!
It’s 13×11 and I am planning for 3 rows of tanks around the outside walls (3 sides) I want to have enough space between that it’s easy to clean. And I want to hide my lights (just going to use flourescent strip lights) under the upper tanks. I want my lights on a switch, or two… and I want a sink in the middle, with a Y fitting just above the floor that I can open and drain my tanks into… I want central filtration… Central Heat… I want QT tanks… I want EVERYTHING!!! LOL!
I’ll have a lot of pictures when the baby comes! LOL
Seahorses… Well… There’s one in every crowd… LOL! Just Kidding!!!
My own fish room is about that size, but it also has a large book shelf and all the computer stuff. It just sort of grew and spilled over into other rooms one or two aquariums at a time. That’s called a lack of proper planning for MTS.
I know ALL about it John!!!
When I moved the 4th 10 gallon onto the kitchen counter, and the turtle tank into the bathroom… My husband frowned… Not to mention when the 2 got set up in the laundry room… I REALLY need the fish room. It’d just be so nice to be able to clean them all in one foul swoop! Right now it’s run into that room… drain the Python… Run into that room… drain the python… Next room and so on… Filling is more interesting… With the difference in temp in the Bows and Cories, and the Angels… Then running the filling water from room to room… LOL!!!
I used to have a full size basement in my old house that me and my dad made 2 fish rooms in. one for salt one for fresh. we had the sink in both with RO filters. I still get the dreamy glazed eyed look thinking about it was nice having all thi tanks together with easy access to good plumming. makes the hobby so much easier!!
