guppies

today I'm going to pickup a few fantail guppies and try to breed them. My question is will I be able to do this in my 150 gallon tank? I can wait until I get the 10g setup. I'm really excited and pretty impatient, it all just seems really cool. I do have one of the small plastic floating breeding cages but it is missing the slide in the middle. should i just put a few guppies together in the big tank???

The guppies will do great in a large aquarium. Rather than messing with a breeding trap, why not try a large bunch of bushy, floating plants. All those floating plants give the guppy fry plenty of places to hide, and they will help keep the aquarium water balanced.

where do you live, i have a TON of guppies i really need to get rid of! your going to need a big tank with guppies, i have like 45 fish and i started with 4. for your breeder trap, just put some light weight shells on the bottom for the babies to hide under, but with that big of a tank, as long as you have a lot of plants and shells and decorations the babies will find plenty of hiding places and most likely will be fine.

Guppies are still one of the best aquarium fish.

well, i live near Detroit. I don't want to trade or sell, i just want to give them away! i only have a 15 gallon tank and i have over 40 fish in it, it's getting out of control.
