okay well i had about $20 to spend and well i went to petco to look at bettas and what i see is mostly female well my mom points out anouther rack of them well on this rack it was also mostly females and a few crowntail males...i look at the females and notice one with a better spred of fins and so i pick her cup up and look.....its a young delta possiable super delta male (listed as a female) so then i look for more and i find 2 more young crowntail males listed as females (which are really cheap compared to the males) and they are nice looking and then i look at the males and found a really nice crown tail male.

so i get those 4 males for under $20 when normaly and by there pricing they should have been priced at $38 total !!! now i have 10 males and 3 females...if anyones wants a video ask

i love ripping off stupid petstores (while laughing evily)

i have few questions for you.
i always heard that there should be only one male beta in a tank. are your males in one tank or several boxed out sections. i have always wanted to keep a beta with my regular tropical fishes, but been hesitant.
have you had any luck breeding the betas? are they easy to breed?

well they are in seperate things or in different tanks. it depends on the betta itself how i does with others i have never had a problem though. i breed them yes but it isnt easy it took me 2 years to get a successful one and i have only had 2 breeds i will get a video up soon and you can see how i have them set up... some are in cups still but i hope not for long because im giving some away to my local fish club peoples

Looks like you did find some bargains. If you paid the marked price, then you didn't rip anybody off. The store may have cheated themselves through ignorance, thus making them both the ripper and the rippee. On the other hand, the pragmatic old man in me says it's sometimes better to be the rippee than the ripper, because it doesn't require so many excuses.

Congratulations. With all the success you're having, maybe you should look into advertising on Aquabid. With some aquarium fish, first spawns are not always large. If you can raise all 50 Bettas to maturity, you'll have plenty to sell.

You always need more tanks!!!

Great deal you found!

Awesome that you're having so much luck with the breeding program!

I have an empty 10 and an empty 20... I want to try breeding my bettas... but I need those tanks for my babies!!

Cory Cats are a pain in my butt!!!

I have gotten one big spawn out of my albinos... No spawns out of my bronze... And I moved the spawn... Had like 15 hatch, and 6 made it swimming... I put them in with my Bosemani teeny tinys and I haven't seen them since... Guess they didn't make it. Really bums me out! Haven't got the suckers to spawn again yet... BLAH!
