I bought a dying Betta fish hoping to rescue him.
The lady at the pet shop told me they would "take care of him" found him in on the counter and took him.
He is now in a 10g tank with a Under gravel filer and a heater. I put in gravel from an established tank. I use Prime as a water conditioner.
He is swimming lopsided and staying on the surface of the tank (swim bladder issues?). A bit pale and no appetite.
Will continue to do water changes, but I am not sure if he will recover.
How to cure him? He is a blue/red crown-tail male. His name is Lucky.
Sounds like hes is in a good home now! If you suspect swim bladder, try feeding him some peas.
Use a frozen pea so there are no additives. Thaw it out, squeeze it out of the casing/shell, and feed him little pieces of the stuff inside. You can also try fasting him (not feeding him) once a week.
Let us know if he improves! He is a lucky little guy
Clean, warm water is what is best for him now. Try not feeding him tomorrow and see if he feels any better afterwards.
Thanks will do.
I told the lady about him and she just said "our specialist will take care of him" and took him out of sight.
When I saw this I went in and took him without nobody seeing me.
She was a bit rude that is why I took him from where she put him without permission.
Well I hope he recovers. I do really like the little guy
Only time will tell, keep us updated!
I purchased him today and hope for him to get better too
