I am not so new to the aquarium hobby and really just started to get interested in maintaining live plants. Bought the whole co2 system and set it up myself, add iron to an "anemic" aquarium, use phos gaurd to try and lower my phosphate. But when preforming my test which i haven't done in a while I wanted to pay particular attention to the hardness of my water. Now my gh is 1/2 dh and my kh is absolutly nothing. Should it be something or am I doing the test wrong. I am using tetra master lab, and it says when the color changes from red to green, and the other kh, yellow to blue. I added more than one drop to get to the primary color, should I be counting that aswell?

First off, Welcome to the forum!
I can't logically answer your question, I have never tried a CO2 system, but there are people on here that may better answer your question.
Do you race? Or just ride your KX125? I have a TRX450R and I love to race... Hare Scrambles and Motocross.
Good Luck with your system.

Thanks for the welcome. I used to race every weekend, which was a while ago. My first race was actually a harescramble but then I moved on to motocross and love it. I haven't raced in about 3 years because of college and working, but I do ride occasionally and am hoping this upcoming year I can ride more.

Welcome to our forum! MX is fun to watch, but there's nothing like having your knees in the breeze on the open road with a Harley-Davidson V-Twin rumbling beneath the seat of your breeches.
I can't answer your specific question about the test kit, but Tetra has a website that can. The aquarium literature says that plants exhale carbon dioxide when the lights are out. If a carbon dioxide system is running at the same time, water chemistry can get strange, and the water can lose most of its free oxygen. The top end CO2 systems, of course, have switches and timers to shut off at night. If you want to grow exotic, demanding aquarium plants, a carbon dioxide system is almost mandatory. On the other hand, clay based substrates are a big help to the more common aquarium plants.

Yeah, I have it all, trust me. I have had this aquarium up and running for a little over a year, before I have only messed with 10 gallon tanks, but decided to go big and right. I bought flourite for the tank, cuz its the best besides eco complete. I also turn the co2 completly off when I get home from work at 11, and wait for all the bubbles to disapate before turning the lights off. And plus I haven't been using the co2 for a couple months because I broke the diffuser (new on the way). But I just wasnt sure about the whole kh and gh thing. Thank you though and I will look into the tetra online thing.
