hi all, we are thinking of turning one of our tanks into a malawi cichlid tank. so i need to raise the PH, to do this i was thinking of using crushed coral as substrate and adding some lime stone. my question is will the crushed coral and lime stone keep the PH at a steady level or will i periodicaly have to add or change the crushed coral/lime stone. im not keen on using any of those PH changing chemicals as iv heard they are only temp and can cause swings in the PH.

To make it simple you could buy cichlid substrate. Here is the link to where I buy it. Hope this helps.
