I want to try some automatic solution for feeding my fishes. So that feedings don't get delayed, because of other things.
But now two options are there : holiday food blocks and Auto feeders. When I searched for both of these options on net. I got mixed reactions.
Then I thought of trying these options myself. I tried holiday food block. But I don't see anything coming out of the food block. I don't know, how it would help in feeding the fish.

If it's just for convenience, the food blocks and automatic feeders sometimes produce less than optimum results and limit the diet of the fish. If you're going to be away for a week or more, an automatic feeder may be appropriate. Although I've never used one, I know that other people have experienced reliability problems with them. Maybe the technology has improved, or maybe the reliability problems were the result of careless loading. In any case, most aquarium fish can go for a week without eating. That's probably better than over feeding.

I don't have experience with the food blocks. Maybe they're packed so tightly that they dissolve very slowly. The manufacturer may have a website that will give you better information, or better yet, one of our forum members will want to share their experience with feeding blocks.
PS: I just read an article about vacation feeders on fishchannel.com. You may want to check it out.

I'm sorry, I can't help on this one either. I have never used either of the feeders...
When I'm on vacation, I have a person that comes and feeds my tanks... Which is also scarey, because you never know if they'll overfeed...
I write exactly what each tank gets and how many times a day on the outside of the tanks.
If you experiment, share your experience with us.
