1-Whewn you intend to make huge and or unusual sized/shaped aquariums,how do you know what materials and specifictions to choose such as thikness of glasses,
deep,glues,pressure...etc etc.
to avoid leakage and breaking?

Go to about.com and type in aquariums and stands. It gives specifications for both glass and acrylic used to build aquariums. Taller aquariums require thicker glass or acrylic. Several places that advertise on the web also custom build aquariums.

There's a great place in Dickson Tnnessee that will build custom aquariums. I think it's called Glass Cages.
I know you're not local, but maybe somewhere closer to you would be able to help you out.
Unless you're really handy, I would not recommend starting out building a funky shaped aquarium. I'd try a regular rectangle aquarium first...
If you do decide to attempt this, keep us posted with photos!
