Even if the proposed law does not go as far as suggested, the video is worth a look. As for owning another lifeform, I'm not sure.

I've been worrying about this for a while now. I don't even see the point of this. It;s not fair at all! I really hope it doesn't go threw. Would we just have to stop breeding our fish?!, and how would we even do that?

That is too crazy. There is no way something like that would be passed. Well, at least I would be very surprised to see it happen due to the reasons mentioned in the video. The last thing this country needs is more jobs lost. There is too much money in the pet industry and as we know money seems to have voice of its own. OK, I am off the soapbox now.

One of the on-line stores (thatpetplace.com) has posted a link about the proposed law.

Although this is not a political website, it's important to realise that bills are proposed laws introduced for debate in Congress. The bill may never be voted into law, and if it is many of its provisions will be changed during the debate process. The reasonable thing to do is read the proposed legislation and pass along your comments to your elected representatives.

This is pretty ridiculous, of course, If your looking at it from the side of the politicians many people are breeding at importing and exporting too many animals...
However who's gonna find out if my angelfish have some "happy time"

Btw.... Look at the Blue laws they were only in action for a few years before they were lifted.

Plenty of silly laws are still on the books, and one common citizen acting alone has very little influence. However, lots of people complaining and writing their representatives about the same thing do get attention.
