So…
Things are always wild here… So finally got all the tanks looking good. Got all the fish moved to where I wanted them… YAY!!!
That means that the Angels now have a tank to pair up in. YAY!
The parkinsonis are now in a 30 gallon. YAY!
The 20 or more Bosemani fry are now in the 20 that the Parks were in. YAY! (They’re less than 1 inch)
I put my 5 (females only I think) Albino cory cats into my show tank, and they’re now shoaling with the 2 that were already in there. YAY!
I cleaned out a huge bunch of java moss out of the Lacustris (Turqoise) Rainbow tank, so now they can actually swim around… YAY!!
I moved a park mop into a hatching tank and now have like over 30 teeny tiny Park fry! YAY!
I redid Jack and Emily’s tank, and he’s already building the biggest bubblenest that I’ve ever seen him build (This would be number 4). Maybe they’ll get it right this time… DOUBLE YAY!!!
So I was left with a 10 that didn’t have anything in it, since I sold a bunch of the Bristlenose fry… And I went by and got 15 fancy guppies, and WOW are they colorful. Live Food is on the way!!! YAY!
And… While we were at Petco… We happened across this gorgeous female betta… So we had to rescue her… YAY!
I think that updates y’all… Oh, and for the big final SUPER YAY… Ellie foaled on Friday March 13 at 1:50am it was horrible rainy and cold… But Heart is our BRAND NEW FILLY, she’s such a doll, she’s a reddish dun with a dorsal stripe, white blaze and 3 white socks. And a tiny white spot on her belly that we’re hoping is enough to register her… APHA.

So what are you doing in your spare time?
Well… I’m working… A little, Signs and all… For myself and for 2 other companies on the side… Or on the front, and then for myself on the side… I don’t know how you say that… But Madison’s off for 2 weeks of Spring Break… So she’s been wanting to ride (her horse)and go geocaching… That’s our hobby…
I’d love to know what all this other stuff I do is… LOL!
And speaking of Crazy, it’s better to just hang around in the suburbs and not go all the way there.
Wow. That’s a baby horse! Why does moma horse have on red sox?
NOTE: This comment is not for those with a weak stomach…
She injured herself really really bad. About 4 weeks ago we let her out in the pasture and neglected to remove her halter. She hung it on a grader blade for a tractor that had been left in the pasture leaned up against the barn.
Well… She fought it HARD… WAY down into the pasture. When my husband got home from work he found her. I was lettering a boat about 1 and 1/2 hours away. That really really stunk. So I called the vet and got him on the way, actually I got there about 5 minutes after him… I was really rolling!
She about cut her right front foot off. She removed everything and the joint was exposed. On her right back left leg she gashed it open almost a foot long and all that bone was exposed. She damaged her left front foot as well, but not as bad.
So she spent a week at the vet getting IV antibiotics and changing the wraps. Getting IV pain medicine.
Then she came home and about killed us the first day we tried to change the wraps. So we built a stockade to put her in. 33 bags of Quickcrete mixed in the wheel barrow… One by one…
Then she was great. We changed the wraps every other day. She gets 10 (horse) antibiotic pills twice a day with her feed.
Today the vet gave her a good bill of health. He checked her legs and the one that wasn’t so bad, we don’t have to wrap anymore! He was so happy, he couldn’t believe how well she was healing! The front foot where the joint and bone was exposed has completely covered back over now. The back leg, you can just see a little bit of bone, but it’s TONS better.
So that was long winded, but it’s been a really stressful experience, especially with the foal too… And getting the mare into the stockade with the foal… That’s been tricky.
But the vet was not sure if she’d make it, and now he’s wishing that he’d have took pictures of how bad it was then vs. how much better it is now.
WOW that poor girl!!!!! i hope she gets back to 100% and can run around with her new little daughter. and i think i going to make a post on of these days for a betta showroom where we can put all the different pictures (or videos) of our beloved bettas XD
It’s amazing how much energy young people have. Ellie must be very resilient, and i hope she gets better.
A betta showroom would be really interesting! Ellie’s a good one. She’s VERY protective of her foal… I actually got kicked… REALLY hard, most of my thigh is bruised. Madison popped up on a bale of straw while I was petting the bby and Ellie wheeled and got me… I got out of the way for the first kick, but caught the second one square on the leg…
I was going to write Yay and double Yay for the foaling, but I read your story about Ellie’s injury, and will change that to wishing her well, and you too.
Wow, what a story. Poor Ellie. Heart is gorgeous little baby. I bet it will be so much fun watching her grow!
wow nice ponney
hi ! nice story linesss !
and a pretty pony
:)
Thanks everyone!
It’s been a really trying time. But Ellie’s been back and forth from the breeders all week. We fix her legs, and then haul her and Heart to the stallion. Then the next evening we go back and get her to wash her legs… OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!
But she’s been doing really well. And Heart is learning to lead, which isn’t a bad deal… LOL!
