Today, Fat Boy is a whole new man because of his prospective bride MS Broomstick II. In the picture, Fat Boy is all skrinched down getting excited about breakfast, so he looks smaller than he really is. The two happy angels have not yet started lip locking and posturing like hormone stricken juveniles generally do. He's being a mature gentleman and giving her a chance to acclimate and maybe grow a little. That's also an anthropomorphism.

Woops! that was the first Ms Broomstick. The skrinching fooled me.

II and Fat Boy are hanging out together, but they still haven't shared chewing gum or a brine shrimp.

Well, it looks like Ms Broomstick II is definitely of the female gender, cause Fatboy couldn't have laid all those eggs. The strange thing is they spawned without all the usual preliminaries.

They have paid almost no attention to their eggs, and now the eggs are wigglers. It was a quick romance seemingly devoid of passion, but now the Fatboy-Broomstick family is about to add a few dozen bundles of joy. I hope they can tell the difference between a bundle of joy and food.

It's great they're doing well!

Wonder if they'll hide them from you...

Goldie and Prudential had a spawn a couple of weeks ago, and they hid half of the wigglers from me, under a leaf. The rest of the wigglers were on display right on the top of a very visable leaf!

I guess they remembered the last time when I syphoned out all the wigglers so I could raise some to sell... LOL!
