They're not exactly Bettas, but Paradise Gouramis spawn the same way. At least that's the conventional wisdom. Well, right here this evening by the computer, I saw some very unusual behavior in the paradise pair right after they had a brine shrimp supper. They were lip locking worse than angelfish, and it seemed like they couldn't let go. Opening the hood finally stopped it, but now their lips don't look very good. This should be one heck of a spawn if it happens. Has anybody here ever seen lip locking rituals in bubble nest builders?

Keeping aquarium fish is a constant learning experience for sure.

i finnialy fould some females and hoped to breed some but my male died like right after i got some females but yeah for the few days they where together they did this weird dance type ying and yang thing swimming around each other (got it on camera too if i could download it)but they do lip lock too ive read

Wow! That's really wild.

I hope they don't get too aggressive and tear each other up...

They both seem to be fine but still haven't produced any eggs.
