That sounds pretty serious. Are the other fish healthy? He could have swim bladder problems, or he may just be too old. Fancy guppies are inbred and sometimes have genetic defects. Have you checked the water parameters? Most often, if an illness is not the result of a genetic glitch, it goes back to the aquarium environment. For example, ammonia and nitrite even in small quantities will weaken a fish's immune system, making them vulnerable to the diseases and parasites that reside in nearly every aquarium. In ideal conditions, fish are usually healthy and capable of fighting off diseases and parasites. Some of our blogs have information on aquarium maintenance, and we'll be happy to answer specific questions.

Usually you cannot help them, and they die soon, but I have one male guppy who has recovered from this. I isolated him and fed him thawed frozen peas, and pealed them, i squished the insides a bit and put it right in front of his mouth, he became better within hours.
