This is Bubba. I got him at Petco the other day and he is a betta King. He is about three times the size of my other bettas. He wont win any beauty contests, but I still think he is pretty cool.

im sorry petcos annoy me even though i get most of my bettas from there... the correct name for this betta is a giant plakat betta and the original "king" betta is a type of crowntail type but do you have any pictures of him flaring?

Thanks for the info. Where did you get your info? I was curious about this betta and looked at some other forums that discussed it and some people were arguing about whether or not it was a plakat or indeed a splenden as it says on the container. Personally, I would not know. I have not seen him do a full flare at all. As a matter of fact he seems very laid back and friendly for a betta. I would be very interested to see an article on the origins of this fish.
