my friend and i (fishycrackers) have noticed a couple of missing fish. in his tank which is a 55 gallon he noticed that 1 of his 8 zebra danios is missing, also in his pond which has 2 small turtles, and 3 small kois, his goldfish is missing. the pon is in an enclosed area so birds or cats would have nothing to do with it. alos i noticed that in my 20 gallon which has 7 mollies a small pleco(that wont last long) and a gold gourami, small, and 2 female bettas, small, i have lost my clown loach. my tank is outside but it is directly in the corner of my patio, not many people come in and out because i have a lock on my gate, and people are home nearly all day.so i noticed my clown loach was missing yesturday evening, nut in the morning when i was feeding my fish it was there, but whjen i came home , kaboyee, nothing was there. is this normal?
if u kno any possible reasons this could have happend to us plz relpy and leave a comment

Most likely they have shuffled off this mortal coil, as Shakespeare would say. A deceased fish can decay and disappear quickly. Sometimes, they get eaten by other fish, and turtles will eat goldfish. Be sure to test the aquarium and pond water, because dead fish produce ammonia. Some fish also tend to be jumpers and can find very small openings in an aquarium hood.

It sounds like the 20 gallon tank is a bit over crowded, and some of the species may be incompatible. Over crowding and over feeding are major sources of aquarium problems.

Years ago, a friend had a red tailed shark in a large aquarium with an under gravel filter. The fish disappeared one night. A year or so later, they cleaned out the aquarium and when they removed the UGF, they found a giant red tailed shark swimming in the few millimeters of water what were still in the tank.
