What's your favorite aquarium? Why not send a picture and tell everybody why you think it deserves special recognition. Although you can send a picture of any aquarium you want, we would rather see pictures of your own aquarium and hear how you went about planning it.

We will periodically post on the blog post about the aquarium we have found interesting, (and link to the owner website or profile page if he likes to).
This is not about competition, but it's a good opportunity to showcase your aquarium skills and preferences.

If everyone likes the favorite aquarium idea, we’ll figure out some kind of award program. How about a dollop of duckweed.

To get things started, here's a post about my aquarium.

I've had them for several months. They grow slowly and take a long time to get established, but they do well in relatively low light.

Here is mine. It is an 80 gallon tank with six discus, three clown loaches, a bn pleco, two otto cats, and several fake plants. They are lots of fun and are my favorite alternative to the tv.

That really is a great alternative to TV. Nobody gets embarrassed, and you can't figure out the plot.

Thank you Admin, I look forward to seeing your favorite tank! John, you are totally right. Just when I think I have figured it all out they throw in a twist just to keep things interesting. It is located right next to the tv so if I don't like what's on tv I just watch the fish.

That's a nice aquarium. I even like the strawberry tablecloth. My mom had one like that when I was a kid.

i really like how mine is turning out, you can check it out here http://www.myaquariumclub.com/my-aquarium-in-the-dark- 378.html
i added the final element witch is some rocks within the bamboo forest and off to the side for contrast, i didnt have those in this picture because i was testing them out on an empty tank to see how much of a change they would do on my aquarium, and it turned out they lowered the ph so that was a good thing because here in az we have very hard water.

Good picture. Maybe the bamboo will survive longer with the leaves exposed to the air. As for our Arizona hard water, it can be softened a bit with Malaysian and other driftwood, and with Indian almond leaves.

thanx, and yea ive been looking into some driftwood, i had read that lowers the ph some, but its really expensive.. and at the moment i have about 21 fish and 3 frogs, including 5 neons, and 2 cleaners that only come out at night in a 30gall tank. on top of that i just got about 20 fry that will need a new home, and i have 4 female guppies i may need to separate into my smaller 10 gall. so i dont know if i can keep much else, what do you guys think?

Sometimes you can find a good deal on driftwood at aquabid.com or ebay. I prefer Malaysian driftwood, but that's just a personal matter. Every now and then PETCO.com has a sale on driftwood and when they do, the price is low. Well, anyhow, it has been.

What type of nocturnal cleaners do you have? Some of them prey on sleeping fish.

also with the amount of fish i have, once i added the bamboo and rocks my lvs are great, i have a 20 or so nitrate
0-.5 nitrite
6.0 pH
180 alkaline
180 hardness
i like how its going so far and dont want to mess things up, but my girlfriend liked some pot belly mollies, and i was thinking of getting 2 maybe? (same gender)

here is my eclipse 3 gallon. I've got about 10 baby guppies that are being moved over to the 20 gallon that I have on order, hopefully in a week or two. The momma guppy lives with a regular cory (spotted maybe), an AD frog, a mystery snail and a 33 cent shrimp (ghost?). I do weekly water changes with a syphon and do refills with RO water and stress coat to condition. The new aquarium will go in the same spot near my sink for easy maintenance.

Don't use reverse osmosis water for every partial water change. It lacks the chemical buffers needed to keep pH under control. Using it for some of the partial water changes will help soften the water.

Azaquatics recommends salt treatments, which I have been testing on my eclipse tank. Does salt act as a buffer?
