my pond goldfish is approximately 6inches long.i noticed two days ago his tail is turning white and also looks cotton wool like.ive had my pond water tested and the quality is perfect.ive isolated the fish and used pimafix.do you think im treating this right.

It may be a fungus or a bacterial infection. What does it look like? Does it look white & fuzzy or like white strings/tufts? Pimafix is not going to be of much help in treating either. Where is he now? You will need to remove the pimafix before switching to another treatment. I would start by making sure he has healthy water- if the tank is not cycled, you will need to do daily or twice daily water changes. Then increase the salinity to .1%- this equates to approx 1 teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon of water. Premix in container of tank water & add gradually over 48hrs. Only add back the salt you remove with water changes- a 50% wc, add back 1/2 original dose. Some more info will help!
