I feel like sharing my joy with everyone! Today we travelled up to York and I got a couple of lovely new puffers!
I was lucky enough to find a species that I don't have, and that is one off my "Puffer Wish List". It's Carinotetraodon salivator, or the Striped Red-Eye puffer. They only had 2 males left, but I took them both as the males are the more attractive sex.
They had a long journey, but have settled in nicely and have even eaten some bloodworm. For now they are in with my other redeye puffers, but I intend to keep a close watch to make sure there's no aggression that results in any injuries, either by the new puffers, or one of the other puffers to the new puffers.
I will have to work on getting some photos for this forum. I have tried posting in the past with no luck. I may need to resize some of my photos, but I think I just need to devote some time to actually doing it and getting them on here.
Anyway, I feel like it's Christmas with my new puffers. This particular species is difficult to find and when you can find them they are somewhat expensive. So I owe a big "thanks" to my husband for taking me to York (a long way from our home) and for not freaking out when the man at the LFS told him how much they were!
