What does everyone think about the new genetically altered danios that have become available in North America? I think its funny that the person/company that developed them (apparently they injected jellyfish genes into the danio eggs to achieve the bright red coloring in the zebra danios) solded the 'merchandising' rights to one person/company. Like the aquarium comunity wouldn't start breeding them? A few pet shops stocking them here in Canada had a ban placed on them because of the genetic altering but a ton of aquarists already have their hand on sets and are breeding them.

I thought they made them to detect water polution? Then saw a marketing gimmick? Reminds me of the Simson's episode where a science lab crosses a parret with a octopus and it says ' Polly shouldn't be!' Instead of 'Polly wants a cracker'
