on my newly set up 75 gal. planted tank I have a diy hood that has 4-t8 4ft fluorescence's for daytime and for night viewing I have 2-1watt 'emergency exit' bulbs which have 16 red LED's in them, they don't quite light up the whole tank but just enough to view what's going on at night, my question being am I harming(stressing) my fish in any way by using these lights at night? Thank you in advance,

Hi Ascitone
FWIW I have had a blue 3, 5 or 7-1/2 watt bulb (xmas tree type) in each of my lighting units for over 25 years and have never seen any adverse affects from it. Freshwater, Marine and Reef aquaria! Not the same bulbs of course, I had to replace them when each burned out.<G>
