Much to their credit, PETCO has stopped selling antibiotics for fish. The policy went into effect on August 10, and it also involves teaching aquarists how to use more natural methods of keeping fish healthy. They still sell a full range of the natural remedies. If you keep track of environmental issues, you may know that the over use of antibiotics has led to disease resistant "bugs" and the presence of antibiotic chemicals in the food chain as well as in lakes and rivers.

This is not necessarily a recommendation of PETCO, but I do applaud their policy change.

I never liked petco to be honest as not only do they're fish die quickly but they're hamsters and reptiles do too. petsmart and local pet shops have always been good to me. but to the point, this dose sound like a good thing I hope the other pet stores follow the example.
