When you want to post a picture, go down to the BROWSE box, pull up your computer's picture file, and click to open the one you want to post. If you accidentally click on the wrong one, you can always try again and post an excuse. Works for me every time. ALMOST

are bladder snails nocturnal? because when
the light is on the hide under things and then go in the gravel
but when i turn the light on in the morning they are EVERYWHERE.

Those are some good pictures, although I like the guppies much better than the little snails that can't speak (you did say they are dumb). How did you get the pictures to work? I once had a mystery snail like the one in your picture. A fire belly newt in the aquarium with him tried to chomp on one of the snail's appendages; the snail immediately withdrew into his shell, trapping the newt's head. It was quite a tussle, but everybody survived. Lots of snails are nocturnal, and they will strand themselves on a floating piece of lettuce at night. Maybe they're also kind of stupid in addition to being mute.

So far, I have been unable to get such clear pictures of things aquatic. Of course it's only been a few years, so the learning curve is bound to kick in soon.

Mostly they sneak in when you buy live plants. I've had aquariums with only plastic plants, but eventually they get covered with algae and look pretty bad. Live plants use up some of the nutrients that would otherwise feed algae, and they help keep the water healthy. They also compensate for some of my sloppy maintenance habits.
