Some fish need to eat plant matter, but the real advantage of live plants lies in their ability to metabolise aquarium wastes that would otherwise become toxins like ammonia. They also use many of the nutrients that algae need to take over an aquarium. Keeping live plants is not all positive, because they usually have snails, and you need to get the right plants for your fish tank. Not everyone thinks the advantages of live plants are more significant than the disadvantages.

Opinion time!!!

I LOVE Live plants! I hated them till I finally bought enough that they'll live...

The secret is to get a bunch.

Floating Plants are nice for livebearing fish, it gives a wonderful place to for the fry to hide!
