Has anyone ever seen platinum veil angels anywhere? I have seen lots of standard fins on aquabid. I hope to start raising platinums, but I want veils. If anyone spies some let me know so I can keep an eye on the situation.

Megham,
Try David at AngelfishUSA.com I know he has platinums and he has veils in other angels, so he may have veils. I know his website doesn't always list what is for sale, I have written to him and he lets me know if he has any or when he will.

Mike that lives here in town has some Platinums... I'll e-mail him and see if any that he has are veils...

He has several and was trying to get them to pair off.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. Hopefully, by the time I get around to getting some they will be even more widely available.

He only has standard fin... and hasn't gotten any of them to lay eggs yet... He's thinking he may have at least 2 pairs... but they're not yet confirmed...

Sorry about that...

Megham..Have you tried e-mailing some of the breeders we know there on Aqua=bid?
If they don't have any..they may be able to direct you to someone that does.
A few reputable breeders to try & contact might be...

Northstarangels
Ramirez
FourC
Hy640312

... And ~ Goober( remember him from the old forum??)..he sells on aqua-bid also..and I have his e-mail address.
He might also be able to help.

I'd like to raise a few litters of zebra veils, but aquarium space is kind of limited, as are funds. In dealing with plain ole ordinary angelfish, I've managed to save out a few with desirable characteristics, and sometimes those characteristics get passed on to the next generation. Maybe a dime size zebra veil housed with a bunch of juvies would result in an interesting pair.

Is this what they call "rambling on?"

Thanks guys, your all so helpful. I really appreciate it.

John, I actually had a couple nice zebras lace in my last batch. If you are interested I would be happy to save some for you next time around. I may even get some without the dark gene.

Likewise re/ your zebras and living closer ....

Words of wisdom about platinums....be SURE you know they are platinums when you buy some, if you find any.

Both Sue and I had similar experiences in that we have both purchased what we thought were young platinum superveils only to have them be golds. Sometimes, if golds are very young like dime to nickel size, they don't always have a lot of pigment and can look white. It actually took mine a couple of weeks before that tell tale flesh tone began appearing in the crown.

Maybe it's just me and my inexperience with plats , but I just thought I'd share that warning.

If you guys were closer I would be happy to give you some. Yes, I did sell them. I just checked and all I have left are smoky, really dark smoky lace (nearly all black), smoky blushing, silver, and silver ghost(possible clown).
Thanks for the advice on the plats. I will try and make sure whoever I get them from can provide pics of the parents.
