i have a little tank with 7 platyfry, had them for maybe 1 month and they're all growing healthy and steadily. One of the females gave birth again and there are 2 (or maybe 1 now

) in the tank. i've tryed to catch them but they were too fast. ive heard that its ok to keep fry in the tank with their parents as long as you have some live plants there to provide a hiding place. the hiding spot isnt a problem for me, they hav there own little seperate corner in the tank. The problem is that when i try to throw them abit of food down there, the adult fish eat it all up before it even reaches the bottom. Occasionally i get abit of food down there but only a small amount. Can they just survive on the algae or whatever there?or will i have to catch them?
any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
