Hi I am confused about what the difference is between these supposedly two different fish. Is there anyway to tell just what fish it is? I had what I thought was 3 plecostomous, they had a batch of very large yellow/orange young a few times, but the young always disappeared after a few days to a week, then all of a suuden I only have one fish left, it is about 6 inches long & I often give it green veg to eat. What I need to know is how do I find it a few more mates as I don't konw exactly what it is! It doesn't have any 'bristles' but then again I am told that this is not necessary a requisite for ID. Any ideas where there are photos & correct ID of these shy cute fish? Thanks

There are many different types of plecos. Bristlenose is just a type of pleco.
