Half dozen of one, 6 of the other. I started using HYPO (used for developing B&W photos) over 40 years ago. Depending on the brand, some has hardening agents added, so ask before you buy. Otherwise any place that sells wine making supplys would carry it, but call it sodium thiosulfate. It removes both chlorine and chloramine, helps to neutralize ammonia, pH stability and binds heavymetals. As a matter of fact, most any brand of dechlorinators found in pet shops is the same thing, packed under their different 'brand' names. The onle real difference with any of the dechlorinators is the price. Bought from a photo shop or a wine making supplyer, it's half the price and 4 times the quanity....... Frank

Yeah.....the reason behind the queston would be because I *do* perform regular, even frequent (weekly 30%) water changes. I'd rather not get into the easybalance debate again..the nonanswer that will come from it has no relevence to me. thanks anyway.
