That shouldn't be a problem since you can just move the container and vacuum underneath when you do your water changes.

I must admit ive never heard or had that problem with them, Outgrowing tanks fast yes but not eating the slime off of the fish.

I agree that Hikari frozen foods are very good. I've never had a problem with any of them. Frozen adult brine shrimp seem to be the best all around.

i had the same problem with one of my tanks, in the end i made my own hood, which to be honest worked out better because i could make things to suit my individual needs

Giveing anything enough cover in the tank you should beable to have no problem doin that. If it gets eaten then its just an expensive fish food. lol
it could be ICH (white spot) or are they definatly bubbles ? it could be a problem with the slime coat but im no expert, someone on here will have a better answer for you.
