So a few days ago, I picked up a 5 gallon tank. I worked with it until the ammonia levels were at zero and the temperature remained steady. Unfortunately, I lost my chart telling me what the pH level should be, so if anyone could tell me that I'd appreciate it.
Right now I have a male betta and a small bush nose pleco. I would like to get a dwarf frog or two at some point. The guy at the pet store said this was fine, but I don't know how experienced he is. Would this be too much for such a small tank? I'll work on getting pictures up later. Right now the tank has plenty of silk plants, a filter, a heater, ammonia and pH monitors, a bobbing 'toy' for the betta, and a hood lamp. Am I forgetting anything?
Thanks a lot!

It's probably a bad idea to add any more fish right now. A small aquarium with a large biological load is very difficult to maintain. A neutral pH is between 6.8 and 7.2. However, aquarium fish can usually tolerate a wide range of water conditions (parameters). The thing that will make them sick is a rapid change in any important water parameter.

Right now, the pH is holding pretty steady right around 7.0, so it sounds like I'm okay in that aspect. I wasn't planning on getting the frog(s) right away, I just wanted to know if they would be okay in there if I were to add them in the future. Thanks so much for your reply!

Those frogs can be pretty active and make things miserable for the Betta.

Okay, thank you. I have another five gallon tank. I'll wait a month or two until I'm comfortable with how things are going for this one, but eventually I'll get to work on a separate the tank for the frogs. Thanks again for the advice.
