i'm not to sure how big my tank is if u read my other blogs you'd see. I know its big and its in the 125-200g range. i want to spark it up with some rainbow fish and i know nothing about them. talking t Petco salesmen seems pointless cause the talk in circles. I figured I would ask the true experts first.

I have two angel fish,a redtail shark, two silver dollars, a betta, and a big old ugly black catfish.

I'm considering picking up some rainbow fish today and wonder if they'd be compatible with what i got. Also, I wanted to know if they were schooling fish because i was looking to pick up about four of them. would they fight or would this be a good idea?

A good place to look up what a fish needs in water parameters, food, possibly to bred is www.liveaquaria.com. They show the picture of the fish, where it comes from, how big it gets, blah, blah, blah.

Also, if you want to know the volume of your tank go to this website. http://www.fishlore.com/ConversionCalculator.htm

Rainbows are great fish.

They are schooling fish. I'd get 5 or 6 of a species.

They are a little active... how big are your angels? The angels may get aggravated with them.

Bosemani and Lacustris (Turqoise) get rather large.

Preacox (Neons) are rather small... but not so small that the Angels will eat them.

Milleniums are gorgeous! Irian Jaya are great... They're all Great!!!

About Chain store bows... They aren't the greatest. Most likely hybrids. If you want some really nice bows... Go online to Aquabid and check out Tanner's stock. Also, my friend Lori is fixing to start listing on AB. Let me know if you'd like some of her bows... I'll get you her contact info...

When they mature, angelfish are not good community fish. In addition, they need 82 degree water.

That being said... Adult bows like about 78 degrees...

Too big of a temp difference.
